Review: LEGO Disney Princess - Magical Mahem

Disney wrapped up World Princess Week today with a new LEGO special on Disney+. Magical Mayhem is another princess tag team special featuring all the original Disney Princess voices in a zany animated LEGO adventure. This 22-minute animated feature had much lower stakes than the previous two. Instead of dangerous vengeful villains, the princesses faced off against a big rainstorm and a mischievous Cheshire Cat. The whole special took place at their castle, which they share with each other. The concept of all the princesses hanging out together started with Wreck-It Ralph 2 and continues to gain traction through the references to the Princess Council in Sofia the First: Royal Magic.


The overall scope of this special is smaller than the other two, in which the princesses faced off against dragons and saved entire kingdoms. This special focused on quick pacing and snappy humor to appeal to the TikTok generation. It was chock-full of references to the movies the characters originated from, including many direct quotes. This year's special also boasted a smaller lineup than last year's Villains Unite, which had eight different princesses and five villains. Magical Mayhem stars Ariel, Moana, Rapunzel, Snow White, and, for the first time in a LEGO princess special, Jasmine and Mulan. Each princess's animal friend had a chance to shine in the special as well.

The story revolves around the princesses gathering in the castle to avoid a sudden rainstorm when the Cheshire Cat decides to invite an entire zoo's worth of animals to join them in their haven. Suddenly, the castle comes to life and turns on them, enchanting numerous objects, flooding entire rooms, and attacking the princesses with moving vines. Each princess must rely on her special abilities to save the day. The most notable of these abilities is Ariel, who has H2O: Just Add Water powers that allow her to grow a tail when she touches water.

All of the LEGO specials have been pretty silly, but this one seemed even more zany with the Jumanji-like animals running down the castle, floods that lead directly to the ocean, and the Cheshire Cat trolling everyone. Wonderland seems to be a popular theme this year, between the new Descendants movie and the Twisted Wonderland anime that came out last year. Thanks to Kingdom Hearts, Alice is an honorary princess even though she isn't part of the official lineup and wasn't featured in either movie. The inclusion of the Cheshire Cat was a fun surprise for this year's special.

Disney is ending World Princess Week with a touch of humorous mischief. Magical Mayhem is the third LEGO Princess special, which has recently become an annual staple of World Princess Week. The blocky animation is balanced by skillful voice acting, boundless creativity, and nostalgia. What exciting new adventure will the LEGO princesses embark on next? The first two books, The Stolen Kingdom  and The Jinni Key , told the story of two princesses and their struggles to find love and save a kingdom. Ten Live-Action Snow White Interpretations Ranked

Today is the day that Disney's live-action Snow White  comes out on Disney+, providing an opportunity for the many people who did not see it in theaters to watch it. In honor of this occasion, I have explored many of the previous live-action interpretations of this character that have come before. Although I still have strong feelings about remaking the first feature-length animated movie of all time in a live-action format, I did not think that Disney's newest adaptation was the worst one. New Princess Anime for the Spring 2026 Season

A new season has begun, which means there are tons of new anime shows available from Japan. Going over the long lists of new shows every three months can be overwhelming, so I'm here to curate the most princessy shows each season for you. This Spring brings us two unique princess shows and two villainess shows ,  which is a popular princess-adjacent genre with new offerings for every anime season. For me, the standout series of the Spring 2026 anime season is Always a Catch , which places a unique spin on the broken engagement trope . What makes Always a Catch unique is that it subverts the trope of modern princess anime shows that start with a wicked prince breaking off his engagement to a noble lady, resulting in her winning over a different prince. Review: Winx Club - The Magic Is Back (Part 2)

Part 2 of the Winx Club reboot  dropped on Netflix yesterday, and it seems like fans are completely disengaged with this franchise. No one is talking about it, and it was pretty poorly received in So Diva! Magazine . The latest drop was fairly short, with only six episodes. This batch of episodes focuses more on the Winx girls than Damien, who seemed to be the star of the initial drop. However, the reboot is stuck between old and new story developments with a lot of revisited material from the superior original series , and not all of the changes they made to it are for the better. The first episode of the drop, "The Truth About Bloom," threw me for a loop because the reboot didn't make it clear that Bloom didn't realize she was adopted. Review: Descendants - Wicked Wonderland

The first Descendants  movie  premiered in 2015, with two moderately successful sequels  that proved nobody cares about continuity when it comes to Disney as long as it's fun. The franchise took a five-year-long break from 2019 to 2024 and came back with The Rise of Red , which introduced new characters, a new storyline, and tons of new plot holes. Featuring the daughters of Cinderella and the Queen of Hearts, The Rise of Red  was one of the weakest entries in the franchise, giving Disney ample opportunity to redeem themselves with the latest sequel, Wicked Wonderland . Did they succeed? Surprisingly, yes, at least in my opinion. Though it's a direct sequel to The Rise of Red , Wicked Wonderland  could not be more different in terms of story and production values. Find Me in Paris Has Its Last Dance

Only one month after my recent obsession with Find Me in Paris , the time-traveling ballerina princess drama dropped its third and final season on Hulu today. Though somewhat predictable, this season offered a satisfying conclusion to the show's unique concept that combined dance with science fiction and tied up all remaining loose ends from the previous seasons. We finally learned the truth about Lena's birth and why she's always being chased by anyone remotely interested in time travel. Nearly every character got paired off at the end, even if it meant some questionable decisions on behalf of the writers. The season also offered some of the most beautiful dance sequences in the show yet for its key story moments. While I could have done without the repetitive recap sequences, the final episodes made it clear that this was always meant to be the end and gave the cast and crew many happy memories to look back upon. One Hundred Princesses for My 100th Post

Today is a major accomplishment for me. I started this blog 100 days ago, and I've managed to write a new post in it every day since then. Some of the topics were easier to come up with than others. I also had to go back and edit some after the fact due to poor proofreading. Speaking of which, I'm really sorry about the disastrous short story from my first Story Saturday post . The whole thing was written on my phone on the way to a Mermaid Art Show event in San Diego, so I was a little distracted. Review: Yes, Your Grace: Snowfall

Four years ago, I shared a review of a cozy strategy game called Yes, Your Grace , in which players take on the role of a king who must wisely distribute resources to protect his family and his kingdom. Now, the game has released a sequel called Yes, Your Grace: Snowfall, in which the stakes have been raised exponentially. Snowfall features similar graphics and gameplay to the original, albeit with some small updates, along with a significantly darker tone. Players begin as King Eryk, the protagonist from the first game, but things quickly take a turn for the worse with his circumstances and health, and Queen Aurelea must step in to protect what's most dear to them. The game begins by allowing players to input over their story decisions from the first Yes, Your Grace. For those of us who played it almost five years ago, it might be hard to remember what those decisions were. This task can be bypassed by asking the advisor to make the best decisions, or just give it your best guess....

If there's one fairy tale that's been adapted more times than most people can count, it's "Cinderella."  With a rumored Disney spinoff on the way , this timeless rags-to-riches story has even more film adaptations than "Snow White." That's not even counting books , musicals , television , and other media ! This week, I'm going to talk about different types of princesses, beginning with digital ones. I am no expert on video games, but princesses have been a big part of them ever since the NES era of the 1980s. They have become a staple of the ever evolving technology. The two most famous video game princesses are Zelda from  The Legend of Zelda , a series that began in 1986, and Peach, who evolved from Princess Toadstool in the  Super Mario Bros. series  that started 1985. Though they both began as stereotypical blonde princesses in pink dresses who needed to be rescued by the hero of their corresponding game, Peach and Zelda each stand out as very different characters. I would say it's no contest which one of them is the better princess. Even though Zelda began as a damsel in distress, the many incarnations of the series have evolved her into a wise, graceful, and confident leader.
