National Tell a Fairy Tale Day Is Back with Two Exciting Parties!

Image
Every year on February 26th, some of the most talented fairy tale authors in the world get together to share games, promotions, and free books in honor of National Tell a Fairy Tale Day . This year, not only has Brittany Fichter launched her annual Once Upon 2025  celebration again with a large group of authors, but Callie Thomas  has also gotten in on the fun as well with a fairy tale adventure of her own. Due to the number of authors involved, these online parties can be a bit time-consuming if you wish to participate in every event. It's especially challenging for those of us with full-time jobs or other commitments because the games and freebies tend to vanish after National Fairy Tale Day is over. For that reason, it's a good idea to plan for this day ahead of time and start early so you don't miss out on the fun.  It's too bad it doesn't take place on a weekend! This year, I decided to start my morning with Callie Thomas's Fairy Tale Adventure  because i...

National Tell a Fairy Tale Day Is Back!

National Tell a Fairy Tale Day has quickly become one of my favorite days of the year. Once obscure and unknown, February 26th has become the best day to score amazing bargains on fairy tale adaptations from all the best fantasy authors. These annual festivities started as a Facebook party  with many reader interactions. Last year, independent author and fairy tale queen  Brittany Fichter  decided to host the event as a series of linked blog posts  which, though more accessible, creates less opportunity for live interactions with the authors. This year's fairy tale webring, Once Upon 2024, features 13 authors of various fairy tale adaptation series. Each author made a post introducing herself, sharing some fun fairy tale-related activities, and contributed at least one complimentary ebook from her collection. ...

National Tell a Fairy Tale Day  is here again, and that means lots of fun freebies and games from Brittany Fichter  and her posse of authors. The first online event I attended for this was the Entwined Tales Launch Party  in 2018. While most of these fairy tale celebrations have been done on Facebook in the past, this year's took place entirely on Brittany's blog, making it less interactive than the previous ones due a lack of live post and comment notifications. Participating authors  included Brittany Fichter (of course), Laura Greenwood , Melanie Cellier , Rachel Rossano , Abigail Manning , Mary Mecham , S.R. Nulton , and Celeste Baxendell . Additional authors who did not contribute to the blog events offered free or deeply discounted editions of their books . I managed to complete all twelve of Andrew Lang's Fairy Books  just in time for this auspicious occasion, but I'll be writing more about that on Sunday. My favorite activity from this year's posts were ...
